Stallworth Enterprises

Rachel Stallworth has been a major part of the Northern California architectural and design community for decades. I helped her launch her new digital architectural library to take arch and design firms into the new future.

Black Developers Forum

I was approached by the latest executive to join the BDF leadership to improve their website. We started from scratch, dumping their old one page website filled with green, red, white and black and redid the whole feeling. New colors were chosen

Angela Vassallo Epidemiology

I began work with Angela and her team in the heart of the coronavirus pandemic and got to learn about what epidemiologists were doing during such a huge worldwide virus outbreak. The AV Epidemiology team helps businesses (especially movie and tv sets) stay working safely, which is a noble cause - giving the rest of us stuck at home things to watch! Angela and I worked together to produce a website that showcased what she did but also her personal flair, and we've been working on several other projects currently under NDA.

Doerner Investigations

Tasked with creating a good site for a Private Eye, I had to get a good feel for the owner and her operation. It was pretty clear after talking with Amy Doerner, that she was a badass and needed a website that was just as cool as she is. I kept her company colors and updated the logo just enough. Doerner Investigations already has a lot of printed material with the old logo, so any refresh had to match closely.

Gan Malibu Preschool

Gan Malibu is a Jewish Preschool (though open to families of every faith) located in Malibu, CA. They wanted an overhaul of their website that addressed concerns of sending young children to school during the pandemic, and just a nice refresh to a more modern looking website with better SEO.

Embokare

A Southern California doctor, Dr. George Teitelbaum is constantly seeking ways to help people with less invasive methods. Embokare is the first medical website I've done, and it focuses on promoting an endoscopic procedure to relieve pain and discomfort, as well as weight loss. This project evolved from a simple landing page to a full website as the Doctor and I worked on it together. Dr. T is able to update his blog using the client editor provided to my clients.

HALLEY VP

A fun refresh for a Cannabis Technology Venture Capital Fund. I really enjoyed their iconography - Halley's comet, mountains and a night sky. Along with the new website came a new logo to feel more fresh and modern.

The Business Agency

I was brought into TBA to help establish the young company's new corporate identity. Previously Black Slon, TBA decided for a strategic re-brand - new everything. Working closely with the client, I developed the branding and website. I am also now operating as their Creative Director.

CFSC

I was approached to improve the website of the Coalition for Fire Safe Communities as it badly needed an upgrade. Since this was for a good cause, it was completed drastically under market rate.

ATRONOCOM

Dubai-based ATRONOCOM is a blockchain company aimed at making crypto more user friendly. They were looking for a somewhat futuristic look and feel for the website.

MRJ Capital

A simple landing page for a small VC firm based in Malibu, CA.

VISION(G8)

VISION(G8) is a crypto ATM project based in Switzerland and I was hired to reinvent the look of the VISION(G8) - the website and the Whitepaper. I'm functioning as the Director of Design and am working closely with Head of Marketing and team leadership to deliver the vision they have in mind. We identified the 'Space Race' era as being one of hope and boundless vision for the future. It was a time when people were looking to the future and still saw a utopian possibilities as space programs displayed what the human mind were capable of achieving. Truly astounding feats of engineering and cooperation brought forth some of the most impressive technological advances in history. Similar cooperation and engineering will be needed if we want to change the way banking is done across the world.

Hickman & Robinson Law

Referred by an attorney friend, the remodel of Hickman & Robinson's website was a simple one. HR's website is not a tool to gain new business as much as a verification for those who are referred to them. They needed a professional looking, well functioning website for clients to land on when doing their research.

Solina Nerenberg Therapy

A young Marriage and Family Therapist needed her first professional website to help grow her new practice. We worked closely to ensure the right look and feel that best represented her and her approach to clients. A simple, clean design was needed that conveyed a sense of calm.

lifeID Whitepaper

As I first ventured into the developing world of cryptocurrencies, the same thing kept popping up in my mind - the interfaces and documents are simply not good looking enough for mainstream adoption. It's too techy, clearly built by software engineers FOR software engineers, and just plain intimidating for the average internet user. To me, this seems like low hanging fruit that too few crypto-based companies are focusing on. I am passionate about resolving user pain points through great design. Luckily lifeID feels the same way and sought to stand out. Different industries have different definitions of a whitepaper, but in the cryptocurrency/blockchain industry, a whitepaper is a company's most crucial document. Investors won't move ahead without seeing a great whitepaper that addresses technical, business and financial steps to move forward. I worked closely with lifeID's Chief Marketing Officer to create an easy to read, pleasing to look at whitepaper for their launch. The logo was provided and I built everything else from that.

Quezada Architecture

I provided a full UX redesign of QA's old website in 2016 but used a limited web builder. More recently I upgraded to Webflow CMS and was able to give them everything they wanted and deserved in a website. I looked at competitors, talked to both leadership and the worker bees of QA to make sure they were

Block Bits Capital

I provided a redesign of their previous logo and created a clean, one page website.

Architectural Retouching

I've been retouching architectural photos for about 10 years. Often legal and physical requirements (like exit signs, ducts, pipes etc) can interfere with the architect's original design intent. Retouching the images can bring back the original vision.

ZNO Labs

ZNO Labs is the official launch partner for developing and marketing the lifeID Platform. The same team that created the lifeID brand and is building the lifeID Platform will work with other lifeID Foundation partners to build-out viable ecosystems for broad and diverse use cases. The name and logo are based on Zeno's Paradoxes.

Aether United

Aether United (AUN) was a short lived but intense cryptocurrency project aimed at serving the Esport community. I joined and produced all consumer facing materials as Creative Director, getting plunged into the deep end of tech start-up life and the difficulties that go with it. Branding the company was my first task, but the real challenges were all business, fundraising, and power dynamics within the company. While AUN is no longer incorporated, relationships formed with partners have lasted and morphed into new opportunities.

Paradigm Structural Engineers

Paradigm hadn't updated their website in about 10 years and I was asked to give them a fresh look and a website that their marketing director could update at her leisure. Squarespace was chosen as the platform by the client. We started from scratch with competitor analysis, card sorting and other foundational UX research. We decided to heavily feature project photographs and give each featured project almost a magazine style layout. I took many of the pictures featured on their website and retouched portraits of the team.

515 Lovell

This project had some serious urgency - I was given a week to get a renter for this home via a website of my creation or it was to be sold instead. A realtor had been trying for months without success, so I put this together quickly and within two days I had secured a renter. By the end of that week we had the next renter lined up. I did everything, start to finish. I threw out the photos the realtor had taken and took my own, retouched them, looked at Zillow and other real estate websites, quickly wireframed this and then built it. The house has since been put up for sale and the sellers are using this and Zillow to market the home.

Owl Sculpt

I had been wanting to make a little owl for a while. When the man who taught how to skydive (and loves owls) had a birthday, it seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally make one. Foil, Super Sculpy, Acrylic Paints

Skydiving Altitude Chart

In 2015, I had the extraordinary opportunity to take an Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) class which teaches you how to skydive without a tandem instructor. After my first few jumps, I kept trying to explain the scale of the jumps to my friends and family and was surprised to find nothing on the internet to help illustrate. So I made my own.

Animal Illustrations

Gosh I love animals! If you do too, adopt, don't shop and remember to spay and neuter your pets!

Gaby Esensten Photography

I was very excited for the opportunity to work with Gaby Esensten and had hoped to for years. Her work has a sophistication that her previous website lacked. I believed she might be losing clients because her work wasn't being presented professionally enough despite the work itself being outstanding. We spent time discussing her current client base, her ideal client base and where she wanted to direct her career. Very much a free spirit, she didn't want to lose the friendliness of her old site and didn't want to bury her personality to conform to an overly professional feel. We worked hard to strike the right balance and I'm very proud of what we've produced.

Refreshed Architectural Proposals

I felt some of our materials were out of date and I was given the go-ahead to redesign our Proposal materials with a newer look. I chose to feature full bleed project images and really increase the % of the page that was given to photos and renders. Presented below are some non-confidential page examples.

Architectural Proposals

I have done a great number of these proposals, both for The City and County of San Francisco, and for private clients. I've managed up to 14 sub-consultants on a team where we were the Prime Consultant, coordinating with marketing personnel and leadership at other firms to present one cohesive proposal to the final client. Submitting these to The City means compliance forms are crucial and anything that strays from the very specific instructions in the RFP can mean disqualification.
